LUX Appoints Non-Executive Director

LUX has appointed Laurence Ormerod as non-executive director.
Mr Ormerod has 30 years experience in the oil and gas industry and began his career as a field engineer working for Schlumberger. As managing director of EPS Ltd from 1992 - 2004 Mr Ormerod led the company through a period of considerable growth; culminating in acquisition by Weatherford and leading to a position of VP for solutions architecture within Weatherford.
Emma Perfect, managing director and chief scientific officer at LUX Assure, said: "Laurence's appointment marks a very exciting time for the team here at LUX. His experience within the oil and gas industry will be invaluable to us as we continue to develop new technologies to help our customers dose production chemicals more effectively and efficiently."
Since receiving an injection of £400,000 of funds to support the commercialisation of a range of technologies, LUX Assure has begun field trials of its LUX Tracer™ product and has introduced CoMic™ - a corrosion management solution - to the industry.
Mr Ormerod said: "I am delighted to be joining the team at LUX Assure and I hope that my experience will add to the success which the firm has already enjoyed. In particular I hope I can assist the team to negotiate the commercial and technical issues associated with bringing these exciting new products to market."
LUX Assure specialises in developing robust, highly sensitive and simple to use chemical monitoring solutions for the oil and gas industry. The technologies are suitable for both offshore and onshore use and for applications in production, processing, transportation and storage.
